Dear Fr. Superior,
Please help me decide whether I am being called by God to a monastic life.
Pat,
If you feel called to monastic life the best thing to do is to try your vocation out. You'll know very quickly if Christ is calling you to the life.
Father Prior,
If discernment has been and is being taken place, and the attraction to the contemplative life is stronger by the day, how do I make my first contact to express interests and be considered?

I am former seminarian, that studied under ADOS. Arch Bishop Burnet, thought that I was too introverted to become a Parish Priest, so he has encouraged me to look at the orders. I have all ready fallen in love with the Benedictine Prayer life which I learned about from Mount Angel Seminary, However, I think it wise to learn as much as I can about the monastic life that I can before I say yes to something I may not understand.
I have kept my habits of reading the office at least three times a day, and I offer up my everyday chores as my prayer as well. I love the idea of alway treating a guest as if he was Christ. And I live it too the best of my ability. I would love to talk to some one some more about entering as a brother.

Dear Fr Superior,
I am a 28 year old who for many years has not been practicing the Catholic faith, and now want to do something more than rejoin my fellow parishoners in the pews, Is this something I should explore further? Or is this something that I am misreading?

Greetings Father,
I'm interested in talking about vocation, in praying with the community, in making an extended retreat. In the same breath its fair to you to say I live, work, and am beginning seminary in a Lutheran setting and I have both family and financial obligations. In two years of discernment with the help of prayer, family, parish, pastor, spiritual director, Benedict's Rule and retreat I have begun to recognize and test my call to contemplative life. I am eager to continue my journey seeking God in relationship with a community devoted to genuine Christian love.
Thank you for your life.
My question is whether you can recommend any female Benedictine monasteries/convents that are more traditional following well the rule of St. Benedict and the Holy See, while wearing traditional habits, and that allow pursuits of intellectual endeavors in theology/ philosophy formation, and have access to the extraordinary form of the liturgy with Gregorian chant.
Recently I heard that there is a new female congregations being found in Ann Arbor but can not find much information on this.
